Rules of Shoot 2011 Changes
Effective 1 August 2011
Section 4 Shooting Rules and Etiquette
Since it's inception, our game has always been based on a one arrow round. The overwhelming majority of archers understand this and comply, however at a recent Sanctioned Event, certain individuals decided that they could shoot additional arrows without penalty. This behaviour is contrary to the intent of the game.
Sub Section F4.1 and F4.2 now specifically classify shooting more than one arrow from a shooting stake or shooting anywhere at the venue other than on a designated course or the practice range as unsportsmanlike conduct for which the penalty can be disqualification or membership suspension.
Effective 1 July 2011
Section 4 A.4
The sentence "At times, stakes are set to challenge the archer with various shooting positions. Alterations to the ground around the shooting stake using any tools or leveling aids, natural or otherwise is not permitted." has been removed. Shooters are now at liberty to alter the ground conditions to ensure a safe footing.
Section 4 A.8
The Committee has introduced a minimum cut off time for Sunday shooting. It is expected that the shoot officials will determine a realistic cut off time based on the number of shooters, the range configuration, course layout and the weather conditions. I can however not be earlier than 1.30pm. The need to be on the range by 9am has been removed however scores will not be accepted if turned in after the advertised cut off time.
