Objectives

The Objectives of Lake Macquarie Field Archers Inc. are:

(a) To foster and promote field archery in keeping with the rules and regulations of the relevant Australian and International bodies.
(b) To encourage conservation awareness in members.
(c) To ensure that all members who hunt do so in an ethical, safe and responsible manner.
(d) To liaise with similar organisations, Government Departments and statutory
bodies at all levels.
(e) To encourage and foster friendship and co-operation amongst members.
(f) To promote and conduct either alone or jointly with other persons, organisations, associations or clubs, social functions and events, outings, rallies, meetings, conferences, expeditions and to assist community services in furtherance of the interests of the association and its members.
(g) To do all such other lawful things as may appear to be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
(h) To encourage all members while participating in association activities to act in an environmentally and socially responsible manner and in accordance with the law.
(i) To strongly encourage those members who hunt to undertake and complete “adequate training” as defined by the Game Council of NSW (see Operating Procedures).

Special provisions applicable to members of LMFA involved in hunting.

Members of the association who hunt shall be required to abide by the Game Council of NSW “Code of Practice” for ethical, safe and responsible hunting.
Members who are members as a result of LMFA becoming an Approved Hunting Organization within the meaning of the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002, or use the association for holding an R-licence, shall be required to indicate their acceptance of the Game Council’s Code of Conduct. This shall be on the prescribed form in accordance with the association’s Operating Procedures.
Any member who is deemed to have breached:
(a)the Game Council’s Code of Practice; or
(b)the Game and Feral Animal Control Act, its Regulation and associated legislation, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the Firearms Act,
shall be disciplined in accord with rule 12 of the Club Constitution.
